Fundraising


Funding through the local NHS framework helps us provide the best services for you in terms of medical, surgical and cancer care. Our expenditure plans are clearly defined to enable us to meet our waiting list and other performance targets.

The role of fundraising is to provide the additional monies in specific areas that go beyond the Trustís normal range of services. These may be large capital projects (such as a new treatment centre), funding for research, or smaller funds to provide additional equipment or to improve the care environment for patients, carers, relatives and visitors.


In this section, you can find more information about our major appeals and upcoming fundraising events: The picture above is the newly built Stephanie Marks Diabetes Resource Centre at St Peterís Hospital, Chertsey, that was officially opened by Sir Ian Botham OBE in May 2010. The centre is dedicated to Stephanie Marks, a young girl who dreamed of becoming a doctor and who tragically died from complications from the disease in 2002, aged just 17.
